Gulf Shores has become one of my go-to places along the Alabama Coastline. I personally recommend spending a minimum of three days in the area, which is never enough; but gives you enough time to fall in love with the area. If you are like me, 24 hours in Gulf Shores is all it will take for the love bug to bite you.
When you are in Gulf Shores, you will never be hungry. Breakfast is served up at Tacky Jack’s, 240 E 24th Avenue, Gulf Shores. A home cooked breakfast served up with a smile, will start your day off on the right foot. Before you depart, grab a bright colored sticky note and sign your name! Place it in a special spot for others to learn you were there.
Spend the rest of the morning on a bicycle exploring the Alabama Coastal area. Rent your bicycle gear from Beach Bikes and hop on the trail. The trail is approximately 13 miles in length and offers birding opportunities, with a recently opened trail to the beach front.
Lulu’s Gulf Shores will be sure to delight your taste buds for lunch. My favorite here is the tuna dip! They serve up the best tuna dip on the planet. Order the fish and you can scan the little sign to see where your fish came from. If you are traveling with someone with food allergies, Lulu’s prides itself on the fact that they offer a separate kitchen area for diners with special dining needs. For dessert, order the bread pudding and set your sweet tooth in motion.
Spend your afternoon enjoying the white, sugar-fine sand that Gulf Shores prides itself on. Build a sand castle, watch the birds, or lay on the beach. The Leave Only Footprints initiative has led to cleaner beaches, as visitors have learned to pick up after themselves. It’s well known that all personal items must be removed from the beaches, one hour after sunset. This assures all beach visitors a clean, enjoyable day on the beach.
After you recover from a sun-filled day on the beach, head on over to Nolan’s Restaurant & Lounge, located at 1140 Gulf Shores Parkway, Gulf Shores. Nolan’s offers an opportunity to combine great food with fantastic music while enjoying a night on the town in Gulf Shores. Enjoy a tasty steak meal and stay around for live music and dancing. Tip: Don’t forget to order ice cream for dessert! Call it a night at your leisure and know that you have had an enjoyable day in Gulf Shores.
The Beach Club awaits you, as you relive your fun day in Gulf Shores. The best tip I can give you is to plan a sunrise and/or sunset view while you are here. The colors on the water are magical during these hours of the day. If time allows, stay another 24 hours and let your Gulf Shores adventure continue.
