Right next door to Disney World is Kissimmee, Florida. Kissimmee is often overlooked in favor of Orlando and Disney World and the other theme parks, but Kissimmee makes an ideal addition to any Orlando vacation.
For even more fun, be sure and book a tour onboard their “Mucky Duck,” which takes you on land and in the water for a wild, dirty, and wet experience that you won’t soon forget!
Boggy Creek Airboat Adventures
You’ll find yourself seeking out the tell-tale eyes of alligators as you zip across the Everglades in Central Florida. You’re sure to spot lots of birds, and other wildlife on this fun water adventure.
Boggy Creek is more than airboats though. You can spend an entire day at Boggy Creek. Start in the morning with an airboat ride, then head to the Fossil and Gem mine to find some keepsake treasures of your time at Boggy Creek. In their 70-foot mining trough, you’ll find gems and fossils. These include emeralds, rubies, and more for the gem bucket, and fossils including plants, fossiled amber, and fish. Each guest is given a sifter, bucket, and small shovel.
Revolution Adventures
Prepare for fun – dirty fun that is. Revolution Adventures is an adrenaline junkie’s dream come true as you hop on your ATV and zoom around over 230 acres of dirt trails. You’ll be up close and personal to some of Florida’s best wildlife in their natural environment.
I’m a bit of a thrill-seeker, so if it is on the water or in the air, you can bet I’ll do! We’ve done airboats across Florida, and love Boggy Creek Airboat Adventures!
Wild Florida
Wild Florida is one of my favorite Central Florida activities! It is an open safari park that you are able to drive through. Though you cannot get out of your vehicle, the animals are visible and easily photographed for keepsake memories.
The park is 85 acres of wild untouched landscape. You’ll spot giraffes, eland antelope, American bison, eland antelope, and more! This is a fantastic experience for the entire family.
We also added on a giraffe feeding which was super fun! You will be given 5 or 6 leaves of lettuce, and you hold one leaf at a time flat in your hand, and the giraffe gently takes it from your hand. It was an incredible experience for me!
Max Flight Helicopter Tours
Nothing beats flying in the sky over a destination to take your breath away! Max Flight Helicopter Tours is a fabulous way to begin your Kissimmee visit. We love the 48-mile tour that takes you over Orlando, the theme parks, and Old Town Kissimmee. The tour lasts about 30 minutes and is well worth the cost.
Bok Tower Gardens
If you need some serenity and peace in your life, Bok Tower Gardens is an excellent choice for unwinding and resetting. Whether you find your peace among the gorgeous gardens or sitting on one of the benches by the tower overlooking a peaceful landscape, Bok Tower Gardens is filled with tranquility.

There are so many choices in Kissimmee, Florida to stay, it’s hard to choose just one! For those who love the convenience of the whole family under one roof, and the ability to prepare their own meals, then VHC Hospitality is terrific! We stayed in one of their smaller condos, and it was cozy, comfortable, tastefully decorated, and had all of the amenities we needed.
